The North East London Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Team works with all partners to develop a system-wide vision for medicines optimisation and pharmacy through clinical and patient engagement, linking national medicines policy and local clinical priorities to deliver maximum value and outcomes for our local population.
We are implementing a phased approach of aligning previous separate formularies, shared care, pathways, guidelines and position statements across North East London. New/updated documents will be uploaded to this website as they are approved.

High Cost Drugs
A number of high cost drugs, devices and procedures have been excluded from the scope of the NHS Payment Scheme. The use of high cost drugs are typically under specialist prescribing and supervision, and the commissioning arrangements must be agreed before their use. These drugs are commissioned by:
– NHS England (here is a comprehensive list of medicines directly commissioned by NHSE) or
– Integrated Care Boards (will include list of medicines commissioned by NEL ICB for 23/24 once this is agreed)
