We are delighted to be able to attach the current version of Primary Care Safeguarding Handbook that NEL ICB have put together as a resource for all practices and their staff (clinical and non-clinical) to be able to reference / access.
The booklet was previously known within the BHR footprint of NEL but we have made amendments this year to ensure the resource covers the entire NEL ICB Primary Care patch
The main handbook intends to support primary care safeguarding responsibilities that can hopefully help each and every practice provide a safer more robust safeguarding culture and focus within their patient service provision.
A second attachment has ‘at place and national’ safeguarding contact lists plus algorithms to support making appropriate safeguarding referrals / notifications, using the local children’s service portals. There is also a list of NEL training opportunities (shown quarterly). This smaller booklet will likely be updated on a quarterly basis to ensure future training resources are made known to all ands to amend any contact numbers, as and when they change.
