Changes to Referral Pathways: Advice & Refer Homerton General Paediatrics
In line with national guidance and the move to a Single Point of Access (SPoA), the General Paediatrics Referral Assessment Service (RAS) will transition to an Advice & Refer (A&R) model from 1st September 2026. GPs should use the new A&R pathway for all relevant requests.
The A&R model will provide enhanced clinical triage and, where appropriate, advice to support patient management. It will simplify access to General Paediatrics, reduce delays and duplication, and help ensure that children and young people are directed to the right service first time.
