General Practice Staff Survey (GPSS) 2026/27
The General Practice Staff Survey (GPSS) forms part of the national NHS Staff Survey programme and is now a contractual requirement for GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) delivering primary medical care services under an NHS contract (GMS, PMS and APMS).
The survey provides an opportunity for staff to share their experiences of working in primary care and helps practices, PCNs, ICBs and NHS England better understand workforce experience, identify areas for improvement, and support staff wellbeing, recruitment, and retention.
All survey responses are anonymous and managed by an approved external organisation. Practice-level results will be shared directly with nominated practice contacts.
Action Required:
The sampling period is now open, and practices and PCNs must submit their staff lists via the online portal by 1st September 2026.
