GP practices will soon receive boxes with a range of printed materials to use in practice and in outreach activity this winter and beyond.

The materials will include:

Winter Wellness Guide for your borough. Designed for older and more vulnerable residents and co-produced with councils, providing residents with holistic information in their borough on how to stay well, how to get winter vaccinations, cost of living advice and information on health and care services. You can find the winter wellness guides and a range of winter wellness advice online now here.
The attached Easy Read on how to access NHS services in north east London.
A child health leaflet for parents of under 9s to help them understand how to access NHS and avoid A&E.

Continue to promote flu vaccinations. 22 November is the Big Week for flu vaccinations but people can still get them at all times.

Flu isn’t just a bad cold. It hit hard last winter and many people ended up in hospital. Get vaccinated as early as you can to protect yourself and those around you.

This year anyone aged 65 and over, adults and children with certain health conditions, pregnant women, frontline health and social care workers and children aged 2 to 16 can get a free vaccination. You can get them easily from a local pharmacy, GP or in school.

You can book now at www.nhs.uk/book-flu or call 119.

Our ‘Finding the Right NHS Care’ campaign encourages people (particularly those more likely to attend A&E unnecessarily) to access the right NHS services at the right time.
