Allergic Conjunctivitis

Posted on:

On behalf of Moorfields Eye Hospital

We are seeing a significant increase in patients with allergic conjunctivitis being sent to our emergency department with symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.

These cases are not generally same day emergencies and in many cases can be managed in primary care. More severe or non responsive may be referred to our external disease clinic.

Please find attached our current allergic conjunctivitis leaflet. Our first line topical drug is now g. Ketotifen which you may prescribe, in addition to eye baths, lubricants etc.

Please contact me directly if you need further information.

With best wishes for the summer.
