Refurbishment of X-Ray Room at Harold Wood Polyclinic

Posted on:

X-Ray Equipment replacement

There will be no X-Ray services at Harold Wood Polyclinic from Thursday 20 February 2025 to Friday, 11 April 2025. This is due to the planned replacement of the X-Ray equipment as part of the Trust’s commitment to modernise and improve our imaging equipment across all our sites. The X-Ray equipment at Harold Wood has experienced repeated breakdowns impacting patient experience due to patients being diverted to other sites. Once completed this replacement work will provide a welcome improvement for patients at Harold Wood Polyclinic.

Why are we making this change?

  • Reduced risks of equipment breakdowns and prolonged downtimes
  • Faster image processing time
  • Better quality images
  • Reduction in examination delays
  • Improved patient and staff experience

What happens during the replacement?

There will be no X-Rays services on this site and all X-Rays will be provided at our other sites.
Urgent cases: we remain open to walk-in for all urgent cases, such as chest X-Rays and query fractures. For these indications, the patient should attend the department with their X-Ray request form and will be seen on the day at our other sites. Please attend either Queen’s Hospital or King George Hospital (not a community site) with suspected fractures relating to:

  • Hip/Pelvis
  • Skull
  • Spines
  • Non-urgent case: The current appointment system will continue to be used for non-urgent cases. Request forms should be sent to the provided email address to book an appointment.
  • Patients can access our website for general information on our services walk in X-Rays.
