1. For the treatment of rubeotic glaucoma where there is an intraocular pressure >28mm Hg secondary to iris rubeosis, where pan-retinal laser treatment has been ineffective. All prescribing and administration will be carried out by a consultant ophthalmologist specialised in the management of this condition.
2. The drug will be stopped if there is regression of iris rubeosis, and an intraocular pressure of <21mm Hg (on topical therapy), or an assessment of clinically inactive iris rubeosis.
3. As the drug is both unlicensed in this condition and supplied as a formulation for intravitreal injection from a specials unit, the patient must be educated on the use of the medication and consent documented in the patient record.
4. The cost of drug, supplied as 1.25mg in 0.05ml, will be funded by the Ophthalmology Department as the cost is sufficiently covered within the tariff charged for an injection in outpatients.
5. As the drug is ordered in specially, the dose must be requested in good time. Please liaise with Kamini Patel at Whipps Cross to organise this to avoid any problems with doses not being ready.
6. The patient numbers are estimated to be around 3-5 per annum.

NEL FPG Approved for use in Connective Tissue Disease- Interstitial Lung Disease (CTD-ILD) and Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis- Interstitial Lung Disease (HP-ILD)

Treatment of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) in patients with severe active disease that has failed to respond to, or patient is intolerant to at least 2 immunosuppressants (tacrolimus, methotrexate, mycophenolate or cyclophosphamide), each having been taken for at least 3 months.

Rituximab IV 1g on day 1 and day 15, then repeated 6 monthly if the patient responds.

biopsy-proven, steroid-sensitive minimal change nephropathy or primary focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (non-commissioned).

Approved  in hospital for secondary prevention of osteoporosis in men and women 60 years or over, who meet the following inclusion criteria:

1.    Patients with severe renal impairment.

2.    Patients who are intolerant and with contraindications to bisphosphonate therapy.

Hypercalcaemia-will decrease calcium after 24 hours (5-6 days for the full effect). Effects last 14-21 days
