Whipps Cross DEXA – Transition to Electronic Referrals
We are in process of transitioning from DEXA paper referrals to electronic referrals (T-Quest). Electronic referrals submitted through T-Quest are received by the department almost immediately, where paper referrals are received depending on when the referral is emailed to the DEXA department inbox (bhnt.osteoporosis-chingford@nhs.net) and can result in delays in processing.
Other Imaging Services, including Ultrasound and GP X-rays, have already transitioned to electronic T-Quest referrals, and now we are moving DEXA referrals to a fully paperless process.
Please note that Whipps Cross Hospital will no longer be accepting DEXA paper referral forms after 10th December 2026. From 11st December, all DEXA referrals should be submitted electronically via T-Quest. To be set up on the electronic tQuest referral system please email our PACS team – bhnt.radiologyit@nhs.net for support with access and set-up.
