The Multidisciplinary Rapid Access Diagnostic Clinic (MRADC) at Barts Health

Posted on:

comprising of – Non-Site Specific (NSS), Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) and Sarcoma pathways

Currently the waiting times for our MRADC clinic are significantly longer than we would like and we understand the worries and concerns that this brings to you, your patients and their families.

These longer waits are due to a marked increase in referrals combined with a reduction in capacity. To help improve this we are exploring different options to increase our capacity to enable us to see patients in a timely manner.

Whilst we work through these improvements, please consider the clinical urgency and if a longer than 4-week wait is clinically inappropriate for your patient, please use alternative referral routes. These could also include referring through direct access diagnostic pathways or alternative urgent suspected cancer (2WW) clinic.

Please also continue to refer as per the Primary Care Network (PCN) Direct Enhanced Service (DES) Guidance for Early Cancer Diagnosis – PCN DES | North East London Cancer Alliance (nelcanceralliance.nhs.uk) ensuring filter functions tests are complete prior to referral.

If you have any questions about the service, please do contact us on 07715 805 112, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm or by emailing bhnt.rapidaccessdiagnosticclinic@nhs.net
