Temporary Change to MSK SPoA Physiotherapy Location – Wanstead & Woodford PCN
There is a temporary change to the MSK Single Point of Access (SPoA) pathway for patients registered with practices within the Wanstead & Woodford PCN.
From 1st August 2026, patients referred into the MSK SPoA by a Wanstead & Woodford PCN practice who require physiotherapy treatment will be offered appointments at King George Hospital.
Under the current pathway, these patients would ordinarily receive physiotherapy at Wanstead Hospital. However, to help manage demand across the system, physiotherapy appointments for Wanstead & Woodford PCN patients will temporarily be delivered from King George Hospital for three months.
Action for practices
When referring patients into the MSK SPoA, please ensure they are made aware that:
- If physiotherapy treatment is required, their appointment will be at King George Hospital
- This is a temporary arrangement and will be in place for three months
Please ensure this information is communicated to patients at the point of referral. Setting clear expectations about the location of their appointment will help to reduce DNA rates and support effective utilisation of available appointments.
This is a temporary change to the pathway. A further update will be provided ahead of any changes to the current arrangement.
Thank you for your continued support.
