St Bartholomew’s Hospital: Referrals to SBH Fertility/Semen Analysis Clinic
Dear GPs,
Since the start of 2026, we have lifted all referral restrictions for our fertility and semen analysis services, and we now accept referrals from all catchment areas.
To refer patients to us, please use the E-Referral Service (ERS). Please note, we do not accept paper or email referrals.
Fertility:
Our fertility service covers the following conditions and treatments:
Conditions:
- Reproductive Medicine/fertility conditions infertility such as anovulation, PCOS, tubal factor, male factor
- Assisted Reproduction (As first part of the patient pathway)
- Recurrent miscarriage
- Fibroids
- Mullerian abnormalities
- Endometriosis
- Fertility preservation
- Sub-fertility
- Premature ovarian insufficiency
- Egg donation
- Sperm donation
- Egg freezing
Services we provide:
- Consultations
- Investigations
- IUI
- IVF +/- ICSI
- Frozen embryo transfer
- Egg freezing
- Sperm freezing
- Surgical sperm retrieval (micro –TESE)
- Minimal access surgery: hysteroscopic, laparoscopic surgery, fibroids removal.
- Egg and sperm storage
- Ovulation induction.

Semen Analysis:
We offer semen analysis for the following:
- Routine semen analysis
- Post-vasectomy analysis
- Pre and post cancer treatment
Semen sample production analysis of sample for the following parameters; sample volume, sperm concentration, sperm motility (%), sperm progressions and normal / abnormal forms (%).
Semen analysis report completed by a member of the laboratory team on the day of the assessment. Access to the report is on CRS or via the East London Patient Records (ELPR). We will only email reports to GPs outside of the NEL area, or if the GP surgery cannot access ELPR.
