We know the more we can reduce our environmental footprint, the more we can positively impact on the health and wellbeing of our staff and people across north east London. Following the extension training we offered in 2023/24, we now have an in-house course that is available to anyone working in the ICB and partner organisations including trusts, primary care, social care, local authorities or the voluntary sector.

Check out the prospectus for the details of a one day course accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assurance (IEMA) as well as a variety of quick online courses. These will give you the knowledge and skills on how to make low carbon decisions in their professions every day and how we can all shape our journey towards Net Zero and beyond.

Why do I need to learn about climate change?

  • Gaining a better understanding of what climate change is and how it relates to your profession will help us deliver a Greener NHS
  • Having a good understanding of sustainability will help us deliver services in the face of diminishing resources
  • The technical training will help you to design low carbon services that reduce harm to our community
  • Learning about sustainability will help you work with an innovative supply chain
  • The courses are not mandatory but the target to reduce the health and care system’s carbon footprint is.

Dates for Environmental Skills for the Workforce course, 9am – 5pm:

  • Wednesday 10 July
  • Thursday 26 September
  • Thursday 14 November
  • More sessions will be added in 2025.
