Serious Shortage Protocols for isosorbide mononitrate medicines

Dear colleagues,

We are writing to inform you that Serious Shortage Protocols (SSPs) have been issued today for Chemydur® 60XL tablets, Monomax® XL 60mg tablets, Monomil® XL 60mg tablets and Nyzamac® SR 60mg capsules.

The SSPs will allow pharmacists to substitute alternate isosorbide mononitrate medicines as set out in the table below.

The SSPs came into effect today, 6 September. The end dates for each SSP are also shown in the table.

The SSPs are now available to view onthe NHS Business Service Authority (BSA)’s dedicated SSP web page along with supporting endorsement guidance.
