Reminder: Exciting Opportunity – GP Fellowships
Following on from recent emails, we wanted to let you by way of a reminder that the GP Fellowship opportunity is still available to Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, and Newham GP practices.
QMUL have created a training programme on healthcare data and improvement methodologies, and there are opportunities to address individual learning needs. Successful applicants will be able to choose improvement or research projects, with the programme also providing regular supervision and peer support. The GP Fellowship Programme is open to those who have completed GP training – both newly qualified and those at more advanced training levels. The programme will start in late summer/Autumn 2025. We are looking for more practices to host successful candidates following on from a robust recruitment exercise.
We are confident that this programme will improve health outcomes in NEL-ICB priority areas by attracting a new high-quality community of primary care practitioners to address the current inequity of service. Focusing on retention, we aim for these GPs to remain in NEL primary care and enjoy long, stimulating and rewarding careers. Our patients within NEL ICB will benefit from their GPs having specialist knowledge and good working relationships between other healthcare providers and local academics.
The main requirements for practices are:
- Based in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Newham.
- Require a GP for up to 5 sessions a week
- Can provide a nominated supervisor (for line management and pastoral support, not direct clinical or educational supervision)
- Will allow time for training, peer support and for GP Fellows to undertake clinical improvement projects
- Willing and able to participate in evaluation
Please review all further information in the documents attached, and feel free to reach out to Claudia Wilke with further questions If your practice is interested in being part of this programme, then please do return the completed EoI to Claudia (c.wilke@qmul.ac.uk).
