QOF year-end 2023/24 update
The purpose of this update is to assist practices to prepare for key activities supporting QOF 2023/24 and 2024/25 schemes.
Introduction
Under the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), GPES collects for NHS England information about General Practice (GP) achievements which is used within CQRS to calculate the GP payments for the current financial year, and to set the aspirational payments for the following year.
QOF achievement information will be collected on 1st and 2nd April 2024. Other QOF reporting collections run throughout the year, but these are not related to payment.
Year-end actions required
To prepare for QOF achievement information collection at year-end, practices are required to complete several actions by the deadlines indicated:

Ensure you are participating in QOF 23/24 on CQRS. Contact your commissioning organisation if you have not been offered QOF 23/24. Find out how to check this by using the guide on our training site. | 30 March 2024 |
Agree to participate in QOF 24/25 on CQRS once it has been offered by your commissioner. Practices will start to see the offer in CQRS from 13th March 2024. Find out how to agree to participate this by using the guide on our training site. | 31 March 2024 |
Complete all the relevant actions in the QOF 2023/24 year-end checklist on our website. | 31 March 2024 |
If these actions are not completed by the deadline:
- Overall achievement information cannot be collected
- Payments cannot be made
- Aspiration payments for the following year cannot be calculated

Contact your commissioning organisation and clinical system supplier if you cannot see information from a collection in CQRS by the date given, or it is different to the information in your clinical system.
