Primary Care Collaborative Request for Expression of interest for the Role of Collaborative Representative
Further to our previous communication, the ICB has decided to re-open application process for the role of GP Practice Collaborative Representative. This is to provide an opportunity for staff who may have been on holiday when the original communication was issued. The ICB will now accept applications up to 5pm on 4 September 2024 using the attached form
The ICB is seeking to appoint a new member to our Primary Care Collaborative. This role is for a General Practice clinician to represent the GP provider community in NEL at the Primary Care Collaborative. Interested parties should review the role outlined below and submit an expression of interest to the ICB by 5pm on 4 September 2024 using the attached form.
NEL GP Representative
The appointment of the GP representative shall be made by a vote of PCNs across NEL based on a list of suitable candidates who have been identified by a panel appointed for this purpose.
Purpose
The member shall have appropriate responsibility to make decisions for the NEL GP Provider Community on matters connected with the sub-committee’s remit or, at least, will have sufficient responsibility and be ready to move programmes of work forwards by holding discussions in the GP Provider Community and escalating matters of importance.
Person Specification
- This role is open to expressions of interest from GP (medical) clinicians working in a NEL GP provider organisation which is defined as one providing Primary Care Medical Services to a practice list either at practice or PCN footprint
- The representative should be available to attend collaborative meeting on a bi-monthly basis (usually on Wednesday).
- The following are the suggested responsibilities of the role:
- To attend GP provider groups
- To present an update to each collaborative meeting on the progress, seeking support and highlight any risks arising.
- Liaise with community pharmacy, optometry and dental provider group members.

Appointment Process
The appointment of the representative shall be made by a vote of NEL PCNs based on a list of suitable candidates who have been identified by a panel appointed for this purpose.
The Panel will be made up of the following members
- GP Provider Group Chair – Ben Molyneaux
- PC Managing Director – Sarah See
- Senior ICB Leader / Chief Officer
The role of the Panel is to confirm that applicants meet the requirements for each role set out and to put the names of the approved applicants to a vote. The applicants with the highest number of votes will be successful Representative at the PC Collaborative.
