Paediatric HOT Clinic
- The Paediatric HOT Clinic is a general paediatric outpatient clinic for children aged 0–16 years who require an urgent paediatric specialist opinion within 14 working days.
- It is intended for children who are not unwell enough to require same-day attendance at the emergency department, but who cannot wait for a routine outpatient appointment.
- The clinic is run by Paediatric Specialty Registrars, Monday to Friday mornings, in the Paediatric Outpatient Department.
- Patients referred to the HOT clinic will be seen within 2 weeks.
Exclusion criteria (as outlined on e-RS)
- Acutely unwell children should be referred directly to the Children’s Emergency Department at Queen’s Hospital.
- Suspected cancers or patients requiring review within 48 hours should be referred to the CYPAU registrar.
