Opportunity to join the GP Improvement Practice-Level Support Programme 2025/26
We are pleased to offer practices across North East London the opportunity to participate in the General Practice Improvement Programme (GPIP) – Practice-Level Support Offer for 2025/26.
Programme Overview
The GPIP programme supports practices to progress towards the Modern General Practice model, improving patient access, team working, and operational efficiency. The programme is fully funded and designed to be tailored to each practice’s needs.
What the Programme Offers
- Up to 18 sessions of expert facilitation over six months:
- 12-15 face-to-face sessions of 2-3 hours with a dedicated facilitator
- 2–3 virtual cohort sessions for shared learning with other practices
- Practices will complete a self-assessment and select an improvement focus area aligned to their priorities.
- Ideally a Practice Manager and clinical decision maker should participate the sessions, depending on area of focus
Proven Impact
Practices that participated in previous waves of the programme have reported:
- 15% noticed 61% increase in online consultation usage
- 9% reported a 50% reduction in call waiting times
- 13% saw a 52% reduction in abandoned calls
- An average 5.1% reduction in appointments, releasing over 19 hours per week of clinical and admin time
Who Can Apply
- All NEL practices are eligible to apply.
- Practices who have previously participated in GPIP are welcome to apply for further support in 2025/26.
- Practices experiencing challenges in any aspect of access, including moving to online consultation being available throughout core hours, are especially encouraged to apply.
