NHS north east London (NEL) ICB – Local Clinical Policy on Access to Weight Management Services and Weight Loss Medicines for Adults

NHS north east London (NEL) ICB is pleased to share our local clinical policy which sets out how patients in NEL can access National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)-approved weight management medications on the NHS.
This clinical policy details the local arrangements and eligibility criteria for referrals. It has been developed in line with the NHS England’s Interim Commissioning Guidance (March 2025) and in collaboration with our clinical experts and local weight management services.

We will update you when the service goes live. At that time, GPs will be able to make referrals for eligible patients, as highlighted in the policy.
