- The North East London (NEL) Primary Care Children and Young People (CYP) Asthma Prescribing Guidance and Inhaler Formulary has now been approved and published on the NEL Medicines Optimisation Portal. This update aligns with the latest NICE guideline NG80: Asthma – diagnosis, monitoring and chronic asthma management, ensuring consistency with national standards. The guidance incorporates recommendations on the use of Anti-Inflammatory Reliever (AIR) and Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) approaches in age-appropriate children and young people, supporting evidence-based and person-centred asthma care across primary care settings
- The North East London (NEL) Primary Care Prescribing Guidance for Adrenaline Auto-Injectors (AAIs) has been reviewed and is now aligned with current national guidance, including recommendations from NICE and the MHRA. The updated document is available via the NEL Medicines Optimisation Portal. In addition, the Allergy section includes a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) designed to support GP practices, parents, and schools with practical advice and educational resources on the safe use and management of AAIs.
