Launch ofMenopause & Women’s Health Virtual Engagement Events & Group Consultations in NEL
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity for practices and PCNs across North East London to take part in a new programme of Women’s Health Virtual Engagement Events (VEEs) and Virtual Group Consultations (VGCs) for your patients, initially focused on menopause.
You can Register For An Introductory Webinaron Thursday 7th May at 5:30-6:30pm with Dr Sue Mann (Lead Consultant, Homerton Healthcare) and Guy Slade (project manager).
If you cannot attend the webinar, you can still Register Your Interest In The Programme Here. You can indicate your preferred timing and availability for a meeting to learn more and for the VEE and VGCs.
The programme is hosted by Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust on behalf of North East London. The model has been successfully tested in City & Hackney, where it has:
- Supported practices to manage demand for menopause care
- Reduced the need for repeat GP appointments
- Been highly attended and well received by patients
- Improved menopause symptoms and quality of life
Practices/PCNs can initially be supported by 1 Menopause Virtual Engagement Event (VEE) for patients, followed by 3 smaller Virtual Group Consultations (VGCs) for patients who want more support, with a rolling offer of support planned. The programme is flexible, run by a specialist team: Dr Sue Mann (Lead Consultant), GPs with a Special Interest in Women’s Health, Women’s Health Dietitian and project manager/facilitator.
Once you register interest, the Project Manager will contact you to plan next steps. If you do not register, the project manager will still follow up to try to ensure your practice/PCN can be involved. You can also contact Guy Slade, Interim Project Manager (NE London Women’s Health Programme), at guyslade@nhs.net if you would like to discuss this further.
This is a valuable opportunity to build on a proven model and support practices to deliver high-quality, scalable women’s health care across North East London.
Many thanks,
Guy Slade
