Invite: Unpaid Carers – GP/Practice Manager Roundtable 06/10/25 and 16/10/25
In October 2025, NHS England will host two national online roundtables, with a focus on unpaid carers, and their identification and care planning in Primary Care.
July 2025’s 10 Year Health Plan for England: fit for the future, page 34, recommends that ‘Unpaid Carers will be actively involved in care planning’ and that we ‘capture information about unpaid carers systematically, to ensure their responsibilities are recognised and supported.’ Productive personalised care and support planning is often dependent on carer identification. In Primary Care, NICE recommends enhancing Unpaid Carer identification here by ‘using opportunities such as GP appointments, flu jab appointments, and home visits.’
We would like to invite GP’s or Practice Managers from across England, to attend one of two roundtables on either:
- Monday 6th October 2025, 14:00 – 15:00
- Thursday 16th October, 10:00 – 11:00
Here we will discuss best practice in carer identification and personalised care and support planning, the benefits, blockers and solutions.
