Havering: FREE Training opportunity – young carer awareness training

Imago, who provide support for Havering young carers, are running free training sessions to raise awareness of young people who provide informal and unpaid care for friends and relatives.
The sessions are online, free of charge, and last an hour and 15 minutes. Colleagues from a range of background who work with young people are welcome to join, as it’s key that we identify and support as many young carers in the borough as possible.
Please circulate within your teams and organisations to promote this key training opportunity, particularly front line NHS staff, Social Workers and Domiciliary Care workers
The course will cover:
- The definition of a Young Carer
- Young Carer legislation and their rights
- What responsibilities Young Carers may undertake
- The impact their caring role may have to their education, social lives and mental health
- How to refer to Imago
- Service overview
