Havering: Certified Very Brief Advise (VBA) training to those who smoke to help them quit (24 September)
Do you work with people who smoke or come in contact with them as part of your role?
If so, we are delighted to offer you an opportunity for training on Very Brief Advice (VBA) to enable you to provide quick advice to local residents who smoke and help to improve their health. Very Brief Advice (VBA) is an essential and evidence based course designed to prompt quit attempts. It can be delivered by anyone in almost any situation with someone who smokes.
Who is the training for?
The training is designed for frontline health and social care professionals who, as part of their role, come into contact with people who smoke. It is also relevant for staff working in community settings, who are in contact with residents who smoke, including health champions, local area coordinators, Housing officers, substance misuse support staff and officers from other support services.
What will be covered?
The training will be a certified course delivered by experienced trainers from a national organisation – The National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT).

When and where will training take place?
The session will be a half day training on 24 September, 9-1pm via Microsoft Teams.
