Do you want to take part in piloting a key element of the new Primary Care Patient Safety Strategy?
NHSE are offering you the opportunity to participate in the second year of testing the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) in general practice.
If you are interested in joining the second year of the pilot, please complete the form in the link HERE.
Expressions of interest for year 2 of the pilot of PSIRF in general practice
- The focus of this work will be to test how different parts of the healthcare system can work together to keep patients safe.
- We invite applications from organisations working with partners from across your ICB: an individual practice, a PCN or GP Federation, and ICB – all within the same geography working together.
- Year two will build on learning from year one: more structure around the PSIRF principles and the learning continuum.
- Representatives from each organisation will be expected to attend monthly webinars and test approaches within their organisations: approx. one day per month.
- Participants will exchange knowledge with one another and benefit from training about PSIRF in general practice.
For example:
- If you are working in a GP surgery, you may want to work with your local PCN and ICB to test how to share learning from patient safety incidents
- If you work in a GP federation, you may want to work with practices or your ICB to understand what a proportionate response means for general practice
- If you are an ICB you may want to work with practices and secondary care providers to test what supportive oversight looks like, or how learning is shared across organisational boundaries
Any organisation working in general practice can apply, i.e. be the ‘primary applicant’. We understand that people working at practice level may not have the resource to reach out to other parts of the system, in which case NHSE would be happy to support you to do so.
