COVID-19 Therapeutics for Non-Hospitalised Patients – New Pathways and Providers
Community-based treatments have been accessible to NEL patients since December 2021.
Since July this year, the new provider of the local north east London COVID-19 Medicine Delivery Unit (CMDU) has been the Waltham Forest GP FedNet.
Eligibility Criteria
People eligible for the service are:
- Aged 12 or over
- At highest risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19
- Have symptoms of Covid-19
- Have tested positive for Covid-19

Please be aware of this when discussing testing and interventions with patients or their representatives.
The main referral pathway has also changed from automated identification after a positive LFT or PCR test result to self-referral. NHSE has written to eligible patient cohorts to let them know to contact their GPs, hospital consultants or NHS111 to find out where to self-refer.
