BHRUT – Closure of the Neurosurgery Advice and Guidance service on e-RS

The Advice and Guidance service on e-RS for Neurosurgery at BHRUT will close from 16 June 2024.
Unfortunately, the advice and guidance model does not currently work well for Neurosurgery team at the trust due to the lengthy process of requesting images and electronic triaging not yet fully embedded in the service.
Going forward we will work on triaging the referrals received by the service to ensure patients are seen in the appropriate clinics or discharged if a Neurosurgery appointment is not needed.
GPs should refer patients to the Neurosurgery department, using the following services as appropriate:
- Neurosurgery – Cranial
- Neurosurgery – Neurovascular
- Neurosurgery – Pituitary
- Neurosurgery – Skull Base
- Neurosurgery – Spinal
