Barking and Dagenham: Promote our fertility and maternity pop up clinic – Thrive Together: Better Health for You and Baby Too – Thursday 27 February –
Building on the success of previous events in Barking and Dagenham, the ICB is partnering with the NEL Local Maternity and Neonatal System, BHRUT, local GPs and other partners in health and care to hold a free public pop up clinic that will raise awareness of the common health and wellbeing issues women, pregnant people and their families face before becoming pregnant, during pregnancy and after birth.
The event is aimed at women aged 18-45 years, men and their families living in Barking and Dagenham. Attendees do not need to be registered with a GP or have an appointment to attend.
Advice and services available on the day
Health and care professionals will be available to answer questions, signpost and navigate attendees to the right services, and to provide brief intervention.
Local GPs will also provide free health checks, and there will be information stalls and short talks about the below topics:
- Fertility advice
- Women’s and men’s sexual health advice
- Preparing for pregnancy advice
- Pregnancy health advice
- What to expect from labour and birth
- After birth health advice
- Babies and young children’s health advice
- Cancer awareness and screening information
- Mental health advice
- Digital health advice
- Family Information Service
- Family Hub
- Money saving tips
Attendees can also enjoy the following free activities:
- Hot food
- Creche
- Adult and baby massage
- Under 5’s activities – sing along, story time, and arts and crafts
