Autumn/Winter 24/25 Covid-19 and Flu vaccination campaign: Reminder of payment position where vaccination given prior to start date

Posted on:

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in relation to the Autumn/Winter 24/25 Covid-19 and Flu vaccination campaign.

Reminder: Please be aware payment for Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations will only be issued where providers have adhered to campaign dates and times as well as the eligibility criteria as outlined in the system letter published 15th August 2024.

Vaccinations given prior to the official start dates will not be eligible for a payment.

Only by exception can a payment for Flu vaccinations be agreed as stated in the National flu immunisation programme 2024 to 2025 letter – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) where an earlier vaccination may be considered:

Following clinical assessment, there may be a small number of other adults for whom it would be better not to delay flu vaccination until October. For example, for those who are due to commence immunosuppressive treatment (such as chemotherapy) before October, having flu vaccine before they start treatment would allow them to make a better response to their vaccination. GPs should use clinical judgement to bring forward vaccination in exceptional circumstances, as outlined in the Green Book, and offer vaccination as soon as vaccine comes available in line with contractual arrangements.

Please see the table below for full clarification for the Autumn/Winter 24/25 Covid-19 and Flu vaccination campaign:
