MHRA Drug Safety Updates

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Drug Safety Updates and Specialist Pharmacy Service Medication Safety Updates inform healthcare professionals of new safety guidance, emerging risks, and prescribing recommendations. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has more information on how to respond effectively to medication safety alerts.

MHRA Central Alerting System (CAS)

The Central Alerting System (CAS) is a web-based cascading system for issuing patient safety alerts, important public health messages and other safety critical information and guidance to the NHS and others, including independent providers of health and social care. You can find more information in the CQC GP mythbuster on Patient Safety Alerts.

Reporting adverse drug events

The Yellow Card reporting site allows healthcare professionals, patients, and the public report suspected side effects from medicines, vaccines, e-cigarettes, medical devices, and faulty or fake products. These reports go to the MHRA to help ensure safe and effective use.

This website is for healthcare professions only.

It is not for public use.
