General practice access improvements – letter from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care

Posted on:

Below is a letter from the Secretary of State to all GPs reflecting on the improved annual patient experience survey results which show a significant improvement year on year – this is a credit to our collective work on access and experience. Sarah and I want to congratulate and thank you all for your hard work as overall we have also seen NEL metrics improve more than other London ICBs.

The system remains under pressure, and General Practice continues to be the bedrock of NHS care in NEL. There is always more to do, but it’s important to pause and reflect on our successes and I think this is a marker of our collective efforts. The ICB and Place primary care teams are here to support you as we all work together on modernising general practice and improving access and experience of general practice so as ever, please do contact Sarah or I directly, or via your Place primary care teams if we can help.

With thanks for your continued efforts,

Dr Ben Molyneux (Associate Medical Director, Primary Care) & Sarah See (Managing Director, Primary Care)
