FOR CASCADE: Levemir Insulin Withdrawal

Following discussions with regional medical director and chief pharmacist colleagues, we would like to clarify the accountability in the recently published NatPSA (CAS-ViewAlert) relating to the Levemir discontinuation. This means an executive lead (typically Medical Director or equivalent) in provider organisations and ICBs, or the senior partner for GP surgeries, supported by their Chief Pharmacist (or equivalent), with assurance by NHS England Regions involving Regional Medical Directors and Chief Pharmacists.
