North East London (NEL) have recently completed the procurement for a prescribing decision support software and successfully procured ‘OptimiseRx®’ provided by First DataBank (FDB). This will replace ScriptSwitch ® and will be rolled out across BHR and TNW practices (C&H already have this in place) from 2nd May 2023.
OptimiseRx® is fully integrated into the practices clinical system and prescribing workflow. It is able to interrogate coded information within the patients’ record and support practices with relevant patient-specific messages which are aligned with national/local guidelines, formulary choices, safe and cost-effective prescribing. The ICB Medicines Optimisation Team would work collaboratively with FDB to develop and deploy the OptimiseRx® profile and adapt for local specifics where appropriate.
