Amendment to adult flu vaccine for autumn/winter 2024/25

Following communication from Sanofi that the recombinant Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine (QIVr) will not be available for the 2024/25 flu season, an amendment to the National Flu Immunisation Programme 2024-2025 letter has been published. The amendment informs providers about the alternative vaccines they should order for adults based on 2024/25 JCVI recommendations, and signposts to the updated list of influenza vaccines marketed in the UK for 2024/25 which includes manufacturers’ contact details. Providers are responsible for securing alternative supplies of vaccine and should order first line vaccines where possible and will be reimbursed by NHS England in the usual way.
