The Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag Action Checklist
The ICB forwarded a message to you from NHS England on Friday 5 April 2024 entitled “PRN01220 – The Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag Action Checklist – What you need to do to achieve compliance”.
The Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag (RADF) Information Standard mandate applies to all health and publicly funded social care. It applies across NHS and independent providers, social care (as providers) as well as independent contractors such as GPs and dentists. It also impacts all health and care IT system suppliers.
This email has caused some concern amongst a number of practices across NEL. I have been in contact with NHS England to find out more, in the meantime, I am happy to advise that the Clinical Effectiveness Group (CEG) are acting on the guidance.
As a priority CEG are currently updating all relevant templates with the required codes. Once the codes are captured, they will be able to identify and support further work on the cohort, which goes beyond LD and Autism too. CEG are also building a new template to record the necessary adjustments but as this is quite a comprehensive list, it will likely involve a lot of free text. A further protocol can be added to alert clinicians where reasonable adjustment needs have been identified.
CEG aim to send out comms to practices next week or soon after and will support practices in using these tools going forward.
I hope this provides some reassurance that support will be made available, and my apologies for any confusion / anxieties that the original email caused.
Have a restful weekend.
Best wishes
Sarah
