BHRUT: New non-emergency patient transport service

Posted on:

To all GP Practices;

BHRUT New non-emergency patient transport service goes live on Sunday 1 October 2023

Our current contract with G4S is ending and the service will be run by Barts Health from 1 October 2023.

Here’s what you need to know and action.

If you are an existing user, a new username and password will be sent to you via your NHSMail address. You will need to reset your password. Your account will be active from 1 October.

The process to request an account for new users is being finalised and will be available shortly.

Use the new PTSOnline link from 1st October onwards to make a booking. All eligibility assessments must be done via PTSOnline – they will no longer be paper-based.

Before making a transport booking, you must complete a form that assesses a patient’s eligibility. The system will then advise if the patient has met the criteria for NHS-funded transport and allow the booking, or if they have been found not eligible for transport and alternative arrangements will need to be made.

All Bookings already made have been transferred to the new system

Journeys already booked with G4S will be transferred to the new system by 1st October. They will not need to be re-booked.

You can also check journeys on the new PTS Online link once it is live. You can do this by searching for the journey using patient details.

Further bookings made this week are also being transferred. Therefore, there is no need to re-book any patient transport.
