UCL Partners CVD Academy
UCL Partners launches CVD Academy to tackle premature deaths related to cardiovascular disease
Applications are now open for the UCLPartners CVD Academy, which will equip colleagues from across the UCLPartners region with the skills to lead implementation of innovation projects that aim to reduce deaths related to Cardiovascular Disease (CVD).
CVD accounts for a quarter of all deaths in the UK. The CVD Academy, co-designed with patients, will be a multi-professional programme for primary care clinical colleagues (GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists) working in North Central London, North-East London and Mid & South Essex with the aim of:
- Equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills to lead implementation of innovation projects to reduce deaths from heart attacks and strokes.
- Building a network of professionals who can learn from one another, share best practice and collectively problem-solve.
- Developing a group of experts who can help shape and lead CVD related innovations of the future.
This free, year-long programme – funded by a grant from Daiichi Sankyo Ltd – will include a combination of group coaching sessions, regular community of practice meetings and webinars covering clinical and non-clinical information to develop knowledge and provide a practical focus on implementing transformational projects within primary care. There is an introduction to the CVDAcademy webinar on 12 September which will feature more information about the programme.
