RAVS option
We are pleased to confirm that from A/W 2026/27, GPs who collaborate to deliver seasonal vaccinations under the PCN DES will have the option to use RAVS where the following circumstances apply:
- All practices within a PCN use the EMIS system; or
- Practices within a PCN use both the EMIS system and the TPP system.
The Seasonal Vaccination ES will be amended and published in due course to reflect the above change.
The option to use RAVS will not apply where:
- Practices are not collaborating
- Practices within a PCN all use the TPP system (as there is already a solution for this in place)
- Any practices within a PCN use Medicus
In these circumstances, practices must continue to use their normal GPIT system to record vaccinations.
The onboarding process will run as follows:
- GPs to confirm to the national team that they would like to be onboarded to RAVS, to support collaborative working by emailing england.vdscentralonboardingsupportteam@nhs.net. In this email they should include:
- The name and email address of a nominated lead user from the practice for RAVS.
- Their practice’s ODS code.
- The national team will then share a list of the practices that have self-nominated with regions, to seek confirmation that practices have signed their Network Agreement(s).
- Once regions have confirmed that agreements have been signed and they’re happy, the national team will commence onboarding.
Where GPs register their interest with the national team by COP Friday 4 September it should be possible to onboard them prior to campaign start (subject to the above information being confirmed). Where GPs register interest after this date, the team will onboard as soon as possible, but this may not be in time for campaign start.
