Breast Screening Letters in London are going digital (Spring 2026) – Phased go-live

Following our earlier email, we are pleased to announce that the London Breast Screening Programme Admin Hub will be commencing the roll out of electronic appointment and result letters from w/c 15 Jan 2026.

Clients with a valid email or mobile number recorded, will be able to receive and view their NHS Breast Screening appointment and results letters instantly on their smartphone, tablet, or computer through a secure link sent via text message or email.

PHASED ROLL OUT PLAN

  • Over the coming weeks ahead, the Hub will be progressively increasing the volume and types of letters sent electronically
  • The phased roll out will see 2 out of the 6 Breast Screening Services (see map of services below) go live each week, with a different type of letters in each phase as summarised below:

Faster, greener, and more convenient!

The London NHS Breast Screening Programme Admin Hub is upgrading how we send appointment and results letters, starting from Spring 2026.


Clients with a valid email or mobile number recorded, will be able to receive and view their NHS Breast Screening appointment and results letters instantly on their smartphone, tablet, or computer through a secure link sent via text message or email.

The Benefits 

·         Receive letters instantly—no more waiting for the post.

·         Access information anytime, anywhere.

·         Help the environment by reducing paper and postage waste. 

What to Do:

·         Update contact details – Ensure we have current email or mobile number details. Updates made to Primary Care Records will automatically transfer to our local breast screening database

·         Look out for a message – Recipients will be sent a “Your letter for NHS Breast Screening” message with a secure link provided. Simply click the link and enter Date of Birth in the format DDMMYY to access and view the letter on our eDocs letter portal

Prefer Paper? No Problem.

A paper copy will be automatically posted to if the link is not accessed within 48 hours. Alternatively, a request to be sent a printed copy in the post can be submitted via a link in the message sent
