New One London Catheter Passport going live 9 December – Action required

Posted on:

A new London catheter passport, developed by clinicians and experts from across the capital, will go live from 9 December.  From that date, staff providing catheter care will need to print, issue, and fill in the new One London Catheter passport for every patient.

Please share this with your staff to read and download information about the One London Catheter Passport (also accessible via QR code below) so they are ready.

Staff will need an account on the Learning Hub – it’s free to sign up.

Creating one passport for the whole of London will bring benefits for both patients and staff.

It means all patients – no matter where they live or are treated in the capital – get the same documentation with their individual essential information.  It will promote best practice in managing catheters, help ensure continuity of care across different healthcare settings, and bring opportunities to improve patient experience and outcomes.  It will address unwarranted variation, reduce attendance and admission rates, and improve bed capacity.

If your staff have any questions, please direct them to Pauline Fahy – Pauline.fahy@nhs.net
