Update on ICB organisational change

Posted on:

Dear colleague,

You will no doubt have seen the announcement that NHS England has now identified a pot of funding for redundancies in both ICBs and NHSE itself.

On Thursday, I informed our staff that we intend to start a consultation exercise on the reduction in staffing and remodelling of our operating model on 1 December.

We will also be running a separate but linked consultation on clinical leadership, which will run at the same time as the wider staff consultation.

You will appreciate that this news has caused anxiety and concern for our staff, and we continue to provide them with support, including wellbeing resources, as we move forward.

Thursday was due to be my last day in the office, ahead of my last ICB board meeting on 27 November. Given the news above I will be staying until 1 December instead to provide leadership support until we are able to launch our consultation.

I will update you on precise timings of our consultation process in due course, but thank you in advance for your support and understanding.

If you have any specific questions, please do let me know by contacting me by email at nelondonicb.ceo@nhs.net

Kind regards,

Sent on behalf of: Zina Etheridge, Chief Executive Officer, NHS North East London
