SNOMED procedure and product codes for MMRV vaccines

Posted on:

Please see the published letter on the introduction of a routine varicella vaccination programme for children at one year and at 18 months, with a catch-up for children aged up to 6 years.

Please also see below the SNOMED procedure and product codes that will need to be used for recording MMRV vaccines, which are due to be administered as part of the routine childhood schedule from 1 January 2026. Both procedure and product codes should be recorded when an MMRV vaccine is given.

MMRV procedure codes:

432636005 | Administration of vaccine product containing only Human alphaherpesvirus 3 and Measles morbillivirus and Mumps orthorubulavirus and Rubella virus antigens (procedure)

433733003 | Administration of second dose of vaccine product containing only Human alphaherpesvirus 3 and Measles morbillivirus and Mumps orthorubulavirus and Rubella virus antigens (procedure)

MMRV product codes:

45480711000001107 | ProQuad vaccine powder and solvent for suspension for injection 0.5ml pre-filled syringes (Merck Sharp & Dohme (UK) Ltd) (product)

45525711000001102 | Priorix Tetra vaccine powder and solvent for solution for injection 0.5ml pre-filled syringes (GlaxoSmithKline UK Ltd) (product)

Please also note that a fourth dose of DTaP/IPV/Hib/HepB (hexavalent) vaccine will start being routinely administered to eligible children at the new 18-month appointment from 1 January 2026.
