Psychosocial Support resources
Psychosocial support for patients
People affected by cancer may face a range of psychological and social challenges. These may include things like emotional distress and changes to how you think about yourself, impact on your relationships and social functioning, worries about work, and financial difficulties.
Psychosocial care helps people with cancer cope with these emotional, social, and mental health challenges of their illness and treatment.

Psychosocial training for healthcare professionals
We have created a directory of training resources for healthcare professionals involved in the delivery of psychosocial services, covering communications skills, psychological care, holistic needs assessments and general learning resources. The directory is on our webpage: https://www.nelcanceralliance.nhs.uk/psychosocial-training
In addition, clinical discussion groups are available for cancer palliative care and nurse specialists. Watch a video to find out more https://youtu.be/FvtomBBYgRM
These provide support for cancer palliative care and nurse specialists to come together and enhance their psychological skills and also to think about their wellbeing.
