Bright Start in Life: relaunching the NHS NEL childhood immunisation campaign in Spring 2025

This April, we are re-launching our childhood vaccinations campaign: Bright Start in Life.

We first launched this last summer, with the support of all our local authority partners. It is driven by community insight, tested and co-produced by residents and it does things differently.

Vaccination is an individual choice and is one of many things many people do to protect their children. The vast majority of children in north east London are fully vaccinated, but we understand that many people and communities have questions about vaccines. The campaign aims to inform, educate, and empower local parents of young children, those who may soon become parents and pregnant women to have positive conversations about vaccinations, rather than telling people to get vaccinated right now.

Some examples of the campaign materials are below and most direct people to our web hub. A digital ad campaign targeted at areas of lower uptake will promote these. These are supported by new videos featuring real conversations with real local people, leaflets, posters and translated materials.
