Accessible air pollution protection information now available to share with patients
Redbridge Council has produced a selection of accessible public health resources, providing ‘simple steps’ we can all take to reduce our exposure to air pollution. These resources, endorsed by NHS North East London, are targeted at those people most vulnerable to air pollution, including people with existing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions, the elderly and families with young children.
All the resources and information are available to download at https://engage.redbridge.gov.uk/our-air-redbridge.

As well as leaflets, posters and slideshows explaining the impact of air pollution on our health, and suggesting ‘Healthy lung habits’, there are links to sources of local air quality data such as AirText and Breathe London Nodes – providing hourly air pollution readings at locations around the borough.

To help Redbridge Council better understand air quality issues in the borough and direct future work, residents are being asked to take part in a survey: https://qrco.de/WeCareforOurAirsurvey. If you can spare a couple of minutes to both add your thoughts to the survey and share the survey with your staff and patients, we’d be very grateful. Entrants will be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning a bike, a scooter or £50 shopping vouchers!
