”Gloves Off” Campaign!
We are thrilled to share the wonderful results and positive impact of the first “Gloves Off” campaign. Thank you to everyone who participated in making it such a success!
As part of the rollout programme, we are excited to announce the next rollout of the campaign, which will launch in March 2025. This initiative continues to focus on improving patient safety and supporting staff in primary and community care settings across NEL.
To remind you of the campaign’s aims:
The use of non-sterile gloves has been associated with significant potential for cross-contamination and healthcare-associated infections. Often, gloves are used unnecessarily, put on too early, taken off too late, or not changed at critical points. This can lead to discomfort for patients and compromise infection prevention standards.
The “Gloves Off” campaign aims to:
- Reduce community-acquired infections
- Improve hand hygiene compliance
- Reduce dermatitis in staff caused by overuse of gloves
- Improve environmental sustainability
If you would like to participate in the next campaign, please confirm your interest via email to Lori at loredana.nechita1@nhs.net.
The deadline to express interest is Friday, 23 February 2025. Further details will be shared with participants following this deadline.
We look forward to your involvement in this exciting initiative as we continue to work together to enhance patient safety and wellbeing.
