RSV vaccination programme

Posted on:

NHS England would like to thank all practices for their support to date in delivering RSV vaccines to eligible patients.

The aim is to ensure that most eligible older adults in the catch-up cohort are vaccinated within the first 12 months of the programme. To support this please continue to invite eligible older adults to receive their RSV vaccination. Invite templates are available on GOV.uk and communications materials on the Campaign Resource Centre. Eligible registered patients should also be offered the vaccination on request / opportunistically.

Practices should also offer RSV vaccinations to all eligible registered patients from 28 weeks of pregnancy, either opportunistically or on request.

Care Identity Service smartcards

GP practices are asked to check their smartcards for older versions and contact their Registration Authority team for replacements.

All Series 4,5 and 6 smartcards will no longer be able to sign electronic prescriptions from 31 March 2025. Please contact the Registration Authority (RA) to arrange replacement. Visit this page for help identifying smartcard series type and further information.
