Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Engagement Project

An exciting new project is planned for 2025, In partnership with Friends, Families and Travellers and Roma Support Group, NELCA are seeking to recruit and train 15 community health champions to support their local communities engage with health services.

The Health Champions will be trained to Royal Society of Public Health level 2 qualification and will be introduced to ICB members in Spring 2025, so that they can support with any health engagement, translation, patient involvement needs.  Online cultural awareness training will be offered to all Social Prescribers and GP receptionists in NEL and resources will be made available via The Training Hub/Cancer Academy.
