NELFT Long Covid Clinic- Changing organisation on e-RS

Posted on:

The BHR Long COVID Therapy team has been joined by Waltham Forest colleagues to provide a combined service.
The service will accept referrals from all four boroughs (B&D, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest)

From Monday 16 December 2024, GPs can refer to NELFT via e-RS and search for the NELFT Long COVID Clinic. This service operates a triage function on e-RS and the NELFT team will assess the referral and clinically triage the patient.

On e-RS please search for:

  • Specialty: Post-COVID-19 Syndrome
  • Clinic Type: Post-COVID-19 Syndrome Service
  • The name of the service listed is: LONG COVID – NELFT – RAT

There is a shortened and symptoms focused referral form. This form is now live on both e-RS and the Joy App.

Although the form is shorter to complete, as a Therapy team without medical input it is required that the patients reported symptoms, have been explored and medically cleared / optimised prior to referral.

If you would like further information, please contact longcovid@nelft.nhs.uk;

As a result of the new service opening at NELFT the Long Covid clinic at BHRUT will be closed on e-RS and you will no longer be able to send referrals to the BHRUT service at King George Hospital.

BHRUT Respiratory team can provide assurance that all referrals previously sent to the Long Covid Clinic at the hospital have been actioned and referred on. You can track this and the outcome comments on the UBRN.
